The design involves the development of a 5-floor classic type hotel with 80 rooms situated in the coast of Rradhim in Vlore Riviera. In front of the hotel will be the coastal promenade that will provide beautiful landscape setting and views. The plot is almost entirely flat with longitudinal shape, as extends from the coastal road up to the canal of the marina of Orikum.
The hotel is conceived as a free standing sculptural object that is visible from everywhere. The plasticity of the form is generated by the curved floorplans that are also slightly shifted regarding to one another in each floor. The object will be characterized by transparency and whiteness resembling part of a boat. The parapets of the building are designed in wave shape, and create contrast between the glass and the finiture. Altogether, the building gives a perception of a “yacht riding its waves” in Vlora Bay.
The hotel comprises of four levels of rooms and common facilities (reception, lobby, restaurant and kitchen, toilets and shop) that are located in the ground floor. On the roof it is created a roof garden with open-air bar decorated with wooden pergola and shaders. The building is positioned perpendicular to the coast aligned with the geometry of the plot. However the rooms are turned towards the seaview following a “fishbone structure”.
