Environmental evaluation is becoming increasingly an integrated part of planning and design process that provides the justification for decision making both at strategic and project level.
Significant steps in the development of environmental policy have been taken over the last 10-15 years in Albania including adoption of basic legislation, drafting of national environmental strategy, providing a framework for protected areas among other but there is still a lot to be done.
TP & D has been one of the first firms that implemented the strategic environmental assessment process in the context of preparation of Local Plans through a distinct methodology that was developed by an interdisciplinary team of international and local experts.
Moreover, some of our key experts expanded their expertise through the participation in international working groups on environmental issues and projects of cross border cooperation, such as SPEEDY. Building on that experience we have been asked to prepare EIA’s and other assessments in the context of construction and infrastructure projects.
