The project was undertaken in December 2018, with the Municipality of Saranda as the contracting authority for the most important tourism development area about 570.000m2.
Within the framework of the consolidation of the Administrative Territorial Reform and the provision of new municipalities with the necessary instruments for a good and sustainable governance of the territory, the Albanian Government, through the ministry responsible for territorial planning and the NTPA, has undertaken the initiative to support the local government to provide the entire territory of the Republic of Albania with General Local Plans.
Implementing the GLP of the municipality of Saranda, the main objective of the project was to promote the development of the administrative units, mixed zones and to improve the urban situation of the city. The project involved preparing detailed plans for 7 structural units for priority areas located in Saranda and Ksamil urban areas.
