DEA Studio Thymio Papayannis & Associates
The project was launched in 2015 by the newly founded Ministry of Urban Development and the National Territorial Planning Agency which prepared the ToR and was awarded in 2016 to the Greek Albanian Consortium of Dea Studio and Thymio Papayannis and Associates of Greece.
TP&D was engaged as a subcontractor with the main responsibility to implement the project covering the positions of Team Leader, Project Manager, responsibility to submit project deliverables and preparation of the GIS Database according to the requirements set by the Client.
The project formed part of a national scale planning operation that aimed to grant the new administrative units that emerged out of the territorial reform with the appropriate strategy and instruments to respond to the challenges of their territorial development and to enhance planning capacities at the local level. The territory of Albania was grouped in Lots and projects were assigned with uniform criteria.
The project will achieve the following outputs / products:
- Re-qualification of abandoned structures for urban use
- Improve accessibility to cultural and natural heritage monuments
- Development of cultural facilities
- Cleaning and afforestation of the hilly area of the city of Saranda
- Improving services to citizens
- Integration and regulation of informal areas
- Arrangement of public green areas, recreational spaces
