The drafting of the report was based on the General Local Plan of the Municipality of Gjirokastra, with the study area declared as a protected area by Unesco and also according to DCM No. 619 dated 07.07.2015” and in accordance with Law no. 10440 dated 7.7.2011 "On Environmental Impact Assessment”.
The Environmental and Social Management Plan was carried out through April 2020 – August 2020 in cooperation with Dea Studio.
This report has been drafted in accordance with the relevant legislation and regulations for environmental protection in Albania, and complies also with World Bank Defense policies aimed at supporting project development objectives, including Environmental Assessment (OP / BP 4.01), Natural Habitats (OP / BP 4.04), Physical Culture Resources (OP / BP 4.11), and Involuntary Resettlement (OP / BP 4.12), as well as World Bank Guidelines on Environment, Health and Safety.
It outlines the principles and procedures for impact assessment and mitigation, institutional arrangements, grievance review, consultation, participation, documentation and reporting, disclaimer, monitoring and evaluation as well as training and budgeting.
