2.3.1 Design References For Selected Sites of National Importance for Tourism Development on the southern coast

This project is undertaken in August 2017, with the Albanian Development Fund (ADF) as the contracting authority. The main objective was to identify areas of national importance on the Southern Coast of Albania and to coordinate local and national interests for these areas through providing guidelines for their development and defining the scope for public investment.

The project has four components: i] to provide regulations and planning guidelines ii] to identify and describe priority public investments iii] to prepare design references for national areas iv] to prepare a schematic proposal for requalification of Rradhim coastline.

The scope of this project component is to identify ideal-types of tourism models that are suitable for selected sites of national importance for tourism development on the Southern Coast of Albania. The selected sites are locates in the municipalities of Vlore, Himara, Saranda and Konispol.

The aim is to provide reference for evaluating investment proposals at local and national level. The document is coordinated with the project component which involved preparation of regulations and planning guidelines for the above mentioned national areas.
